The problem
Reptile-care knowledge online is scattered — great creators exist, but they’re spread across YouTube channels, forums, and Facebook groups, and a new keeper has no trustworthy front door. Meanwhile reptile rescues struggle to reach the very people who could adopt, surrender responsibly, or support them.
What we built
Reptile Lifestyle TV — a curated video hub for the community. A featured pick sits above a latest-videos feed pulled from channels the site trusts (Snake Discovery, Dāv Kaufman’s Reptile Adventures, Kamp Kenan, Wickens Wicked Reptiles), with browse-by-species, stories, search, and a light/dark theme. Front and center is a featured rescue partner — Central Florida Reptile and Rescue — profiled and linked straight through for any intake, surrender, or support, so the audience the site gathers actually reaches a real rescue.
How we shipped it
A Laravel + Inertia/React front end with Tailwind, dark-first and mobile-first, deployed on an AWS box we run. The curation model keeps the feed to hand-picked, trusted creators rather than an open firehose.
Outcome
Reptile Lifestyle TV is live, giving reptile keepers one trustworthy place to watch and learn — and pointing real traffic at a local rescue that needs it.
